Use your Tribe Trail Mix to make an indulgent – but still incredibly healthy – treat this weekend. Raw cacao is packed full of antioxidants, rich in lots of essential minerals, and is a natural mood booster. Homemade raw chocolate is definitely a favourite in the Tribe office!
- 2 cups of cacao butter
- 6 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp date syrup (or honey/agave/maple syrup)
- 3 tbsp almond butter
- TriBE Lauvagegur Trail Mix
1) Gently heat the cacao butter in a glass bowl above a pan of water on the hob. Heat it slowly and do not let it boil. When all the cacao butter has turned to liquid take it off the heat and stir in the honey, date syrup and almond butter until they are completely dissolved. Continue stirring and sift in the cacao powder slowly to avoid lumps.
2)I used a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper as my mould, but you could use paper muffin cups or a silicone ice-tray if you prefer to make individual chocolates.
3) Give the liquid chocolate one last good stir, pour into the mould and then sprinkle with Laugavegur Trail Mix. Place in the fridge or freezer until set. Store in the fridge if you manage not to eat it all in one go….
