We hope you're all well during this uncertain time. We know that everyone is getting used to a very different way of life right now, and we want to help you remain active and positive during this crisis. Movement and exercise has never been so important. Moving isn't just about working up a sweat, it is about increasing blood flow, relieving stress, improving memory, getting a better night's sleep and boosting mood.
Don't forget to stock up on our Wellness Packs to help fuel your training with all-natural energy and protein bars!
Here are our tips for staying active in isolation:
1. JOIN THE TRIBE STRONGER EVERY DAY CHALLENGE
Each week we will set new phyical challenges, accesible to everyone. To help you stay connected to the TRIBE Community, and find the motivation to get active. We will have regular awesome prizes up for grabs! Find out more and sign up here.
2. GET OUTSIDE
If you're working from home and are not restricted to going outside, then head out for a short walk or run before or after work each day. If you have a garden then try and get outside both before and after work. It's important for your health and wellbeing to get fresh air, and to break up the day.
3. GET MOVING EVERY HOUR
Set an alarm on your phone to remind yourself to stand up and walk around. If you're on a phone call/conference call and don't need to be in front of the computer then use this time to stand up and walk around the house, or even do some squats, lunges or stair reps at the same time!
4. ESTABLISH A NEW ROUTINE
If you're used to going to the gym regularly, or going to a run club weekly then set aside time to train at home at the same times. In addition to the home workouts and challenges that we will be sharing as part of the TRIBE Stronger Every Day Challenge there is a huge amount of free content available online, and great workout videos on Youtube to use. As an example, Yogi2Me are offering free daily yoga classes via Zoom - check out the schedule here!
5. SET YOURSELF A DAILY CHALLENGE
Have you always wanted to be able to do more press-ups, more sit-ups, or plank for longer? Think of something that you’d love to improve at and do that each morning, increasing the number of reps or the total time each day.
6. GETTING KIDS ACTIVE
If you've got children then check out Joe Wicks' (The Body Coach) YouTube Channel. He is giving daily 30 minute PE lessons for kids at 9am Monday to Friday. Suitable for children of all ages, and you can join in too!
